The Winchester Frederick County Conservation Club (WFCCC), established in 1968, has been dedicated to protecting, conserving, and developing natural resources for over 55 years. Founded by Dave Fahnestock and initially led by President George Kelchner, the club began with a vision to provide a space where members could fish, hunt, and enjoy the land with their families. The club's first meeting attracted a large number of local sportsmen, setting the stage for its success. Membership fees initially set at $5.00 were used to stock trout for fishing, contributing to the club's growth and flourishing community.
No catch and release on trout, limit of four trout per person per day, safety harness required for hunting from climbing tree stands, only one doe per person for the full 2024 deer season on club-owned land, no ATVs except for removing harvested game, no overnight tree stands or blinds, no alcohol on club property.
