The Allegheny Country Rifle Club, located in Allegheny County, was founded in October 1896 by American citizens of German origin, led by Capt. Henry Heck. It marks over 25 years of existence, overcoming initial financial and operational challenges to establish a solid foundation under President Carl A. Mehrlich since 1909. The club purchased Danner's Farm in 1911 for $8,500, developing it into a clubhouse and enhancing it for picnic purposes, among other improvements. The club paid off its property debt by 1921, signifying a victory for its enduring members and setting a legacy of good fellowship for future generations.
Current club ID badges must be worn at all times on the property. Members must accompany their guests at all times and are responsible for their guests' actions. The property is monitored with 24-hour video surveillance.
