The Chambersburg Rod & Gun Club, established on May 5, 1933, by a group of hunting and fishing enthusiasts, has grown from its humble beginnings in an auto repair garage to a membership of around 700. Initially meeting in an old barn, the club now boasts a clubhouse built from funds raised by its members. Over the years, it has hosted events for various groups including the Franklin County Fair, Boy Scouts Jamboree, Antietam Junior Rifle Club, Special Olympics, Wounded Warrior Project, local law enforcement qualifiers, Sheriffs Association Shoot Out, and Tractor Pullers Association.
A sponsor is required for membership. Members can bring one guest, who must sign a liability waiver before shooting. Membership renewals begin in September and must be completed by December 31.
