The New Paltz Rod and Gun Club is a community-minded organization that caters to a variety of sporting needs. It participates in local leagues such as the Ulster County Trap Circuit and the Ulster County Pistol League, hosts trap shoots, fields a team in the NYS SporteRifle league, and offers several informal leagues including archery and practical shooting. The club is actively seeking new members and offers various training courses including the NRA Home Firearm Safety Course.
Membership requires attending 5 monthly club meetings, working 20 hours per year, and being a member of an approved organization such as the NRA. Probationary members cannot vote or hold club office until full membership is granted after one year (three years for non-residents).
