The Salomon family purchased the property on Yellowbrook Road in 1938, initially operating it as a working farm. Their love for hunting and the outdoors led Eugene Salomon, Sr. to establish a gun club in 1954 in Farmingdale, NJ. After a fire in 1964, a gun store named E.H. Salomon Shooters Supplies was opened. By 1968, the trap houses were relocated to the family property, becoming the Howell Trap Club. The property and businesses, known for their old-fashioned values and strong work ethic, have been passed down to Eugene H. Salomon, Jr., maintaining long-standing relationships with suppliers and a reputation in the shooting industry.
