The Gastonia Skeet and Trap Range, located on Rankin Lake Park property at the end of a gravel road named after Bob and Pat Boyd, has a rich history dating back to its inception by Harrelson Yancey, Mayor from 1951-1955. Initially started on the eastern hill of Rankin Lake Park and later moved to the west side, the range was first operated by the Gastonia Police Department. It features three range units: one skeet, one trap, and one combination range.
Gaston Young Guns utilize the skeet fields on Thursday evenings from 4:00 � 8:00 pm.
