Flag Spring Conservation Area, spanning 3,946 acres across Barry and McDonald counties near Washburn, Missouri, was acquired by the Missouri Department of Conservation between 1983 and 1992. This primarily forested area features oak, hickory, eastern red cedar, and other native species, with Flag Spring flowing year-round on the west side. It offers horseback riding and bicycle trails, nature viewing, photography opportunities, hunting, primitive camping, and an unstaffed shooting range.
Hunting according to season, primitive camping with a 14-day limit in a 30-day period, special-use permit required for groups over 10. Shooting range closed Mondays for maintenance.
