The Pigeon Hill Conservation Area, acquired in 1967 partly with Pittman-Robertson funds from the federal excise tax on sporting arms and ammunition, includes upland hardwood forest and old field habitat or cropland. Target shooting is a popular activity in the area, which features unstaffed ranges including a rifle range, a pistol range, and a shotgun range, offering a 25-, 50-, and 100-yard target area.
Alcoholic beverages prohibited on ranges, fully automatic firearms only with special permit, use of incendiary, armor piercing or explosive ammunition prohibited.
