The Bois D'Arc Conservation Area, located in Greene County near the town of Bois D'Arc, Missouri, is named after the Bois D'Arc trees prevalent in the region, historically used by the Osage Indians for making bows. This area is managed primarily for bobwhite quail, doves, and cottontail rabbits, with local farmers participating in share-cropping to benefit wildlife and the local economy. The area also features the Andy Dalton Shooting Range and Outdoor Education Center, established in part through the Pittman-Robertson Wildlife Restoration Act.
Firearms that fire a single projectile are prohibited. Firearms and ammunition inspection by Department agents or law enforcement is required. Alcoholic beverages are prohibited on ranges.
