The Methuen Rod & Gun Club (MRGC), established in 1925 and incorporated in 1934, is one of the oldest gun clubs in the area, built on shooting sports, dog trials, and conservation. After relocating to its current location on Tyler Street in 1950 due to a clubhouse fire and loss of land, the club now spans 42 acres across Methuen and Dracut, Massachusetts. It features a clubhouse with a main hall, kitchen, and a 4 place pistol range in the basement, an outdoor multi-station field archery range, a trap field with an associated fieldhouse, and a 100 yard rifle/pistol range. MRGC is committed to hunter and shooter education and community involvement.
General rules include no smoking on firing lines, no more than one uncased gun at a shooting station, no fully automatic firearms, a magazine limit of 10 rounds, and required use of eye and ear protection. Drugs and alcohol are not allowed on any club range.
