The Marshfield Rod and Gun Club, founded in 1930 and incorporated in August of the same year, is located on approximately one hundred acres of unspoiled upland woods. It was started by a group of men interested in hunting and fishing, initially meeting in the old Marshfield Fire Station No. 3. The club owns about one hundred acres today, including land in the Green Harbor River Valley. The clubhouse was built in 1952, with an addition in 1960, and the pond was created in 1953 and 1954. The club promotes good sportsmanship, the safe handling of firearms, and the conservation of natural resources.
