The Trinidad State College Prator Shooting Range, established in 1976 and named after Bill Prator, a former instructor in the Trinidad State Gunsmithing Program, is located six and a half miles southeast of Trinidad. It features state-of-the-art equipment, including a five-station trap range, a skeet shooting range, and a rifle and pistol range with distances up to 100 yards. The range, owned by the Trinidad State College Foundation, was financed in 1978 and dedicated to Prator in 1982 for his efforts in the gunsmithing program and the range's development.
Closed when predicted high temp is 32 degrees or there's a 40% chance for snow. Volunteers needed for operation.
