The Army Aviation Shotgun Club, originally named the Ft. Rucker Skeet and Trap Club, was established in the early 1960s to support morale during the Vietnam War effort. Located at Ft. Rucker, it served as a recreational facility for soldiers and civilians. Over the years, the club has moved locations, upgraded facilities, and expanded its offerings. It became self-sufficient, operating without government or DOD funding, and focuses on promoting shotgun target sports through safety, education, and training. It hosts numerous events and has received several accolades, including being named the NSSA Club of the year in 1988.
