Range Description
The Fairforest Rifle Range, officially known as the James O. Thomason Firing Range, is a premier outdoor shooting facility managed by the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources (SCDNR) located in Spartanburg County. This range is unique in its comprehensive offerings, catering to a variety of shooting enthusiasts, from beginners to experienced marksmen. The facility features a 100-yard rifle range with five shooting positions and a 200-yard rifle range with ten positions, allowing for a diverse range of shooting experiences. Additionally, there is a 25-yard pistol range with nine positions, making it an excellent choice for handgun training and practice. For archery enthusiasts, the range also includes two dedicated archery positions.
