Range Description
Brazen Firearms is located within the expansive Zaleski State Forest, which spans 27,822 acres and is the second largest forest in Ohio's state forest system. This unique facility features an outdoor shooting range that is open year-round, allowing enthusiasts to practice their skills in a natural setting. The shooting range includes six 50-yard lanes and four 75-yard lanes, specifically designed for paper target shooting. Notably, centerfire rifles are permitted only on the 75-yard range, making it suitable for a variety of shooting preferences. The range operates daily from half an hour before sunrise until half an hour after sunset, providing ample opportunity for shooters to enjoy their time outdoors. Importantly, no permits are required to use the range, making it accessible for both casual shooters and more experienced marksmen. While the facility does not offer rentals or ammunition sales, it emphasizes safety with strict rules that require eye and ear protection, as well as the removal of all debris after use. The Zaleski State Forest also offers a range of activities beyond shooting, including backpacking and horseback riding, making it a versatile destination for outdoor enthusiasts. Visitors can explore the Selinde Roosenburg Memorial Backpacking Trail, which spans 29 miles, or enjoy the scenic views from the Moonville Tunnel. The facility is designed to cater to a diverse audience, from beginners looking to learn the basics of shooting to seasoned hunters preparing for their next expedition. The surrounding forest provides a tranquil atmosphere, enhancing the overall experience for visitors. With its combination of natural beauty and dedicated shooting facilities, Brazen Firearms stands out as a premier destination for those looking to engage in shooting sports while enjoying the great outdoors.
