Emmet Clay Sports, located in Northern Michigan, is a premier clay shooting sports venue that caters to shooters of all skill levels. Established in 1939 as the Emmet County Sportsmen’s Club, this non-profit, member-run facility has evolved into a welcoming space for both members and the public. Spanning 95 acres of picturesque rolling hardwood forest in the Northwest Lower Peninsula, the venue offers a unique experience for shooting enthusiasts. The facility features a variety of shooting options including an indoor/heated 5-Stand, Skeet, Trap, Crazy Quail, and an 8-Station COOP. One of the highlights is the Sporting Clays Course, which boasts 14 covered stations with 3 to 4 traps per station, designed to challenge shooters at every level. The course is currently closed for the season, with reopening scheduled for May 2026. Emmet Clay Sports also provides gun rentals and ammunition sales at the front counter, ensuring that visitors have everything they need for a successful day of shooting. Members enjoy various benefits, including discounts on clay targets, ammunition, and rentals, as well as extended shooting hours after passing a safety course. The clubhouse is equipped with comfortable seating, a fireplace, a kitchen, and restroom facilities, making it an ideal venue for family outings and corporate events.
